RESCUE DIVER COURSE
So far, your dive training has focused on you and your personal skills, to make you a better and more safe diver! Now it's time to learn how to make your diving more safe and fun for others! In this way, not only will you become a better "buddy", but you will also be more prepared for more serious dive conditions. You will feel more confident and you will know your limits as well as what to do during bad conditions, much better than before. As a Rescue Diver your dive buddies will lookup to you as the natural leader, if there is no professional diver among you.
Through reading and practice - and through exciting roll-play - you will learn to foresee and prevent dive accidents. You will learn how to deal with an accident as and when it occurs. You will practice how to tow a tired diver to shore or a boat, and how to cope with worst case scenarios. The purpose of the course is to give you the necessary knowledge and skills needed, in case of an accident! When you know how to, you can use your knowledge in first aid and CPR in real life.
After going through the PADI Rescue course you will be capable to give qualified help to a injured person both on land and in the water, dive related or not.
When you later visit a dive-center, somewhere in the world, to go on a dive trip, rent a tank or fill a tank you will notice the respect it brings to be a Rescue diver, to have reached that level! If you join a trip, you can be sure that the local Divemaster or Instructor thinks it's great to have a Rescue diver along!
PADI Rescue Diver is an experience for all certified divers and it's also the first step towards becoming a professional diver. This course is valuable and we hope you never have to use your newly acquired skills in an accident, but you will gain confidence and strength to prevent a serious situation from happening. And we know you will feel safer going into the water.
