PRIVATE VAN & BOAT

Most of the more affluent tourists prefer to use private transport. Especially when traveling with a family or group of 4 or more people, this is the preferred way of traveling as the seaplane will get expensive and semi-private transport will end up close to the same price as full private transport . An air-conditioned van will pick you up at any location in Manila and the airport and bring you to Batangas Pier or the private boat beach in southern Batangas. The van will cost between PHP 3,500 - PHP 4,500 (USD 70-90) for the 100km ride and the private boat that will take you  from Batangas will set you back another Php 3,500 (USD 70). If you are on a beach-side resort, the private boat can usually dock right in front of your resort.

We at Puerto Galera Dive would be most happy to arrange private transportation for you. Full private transportation from Manila to Puerto Galera is PHP 7,500 / USD 150 / EUR 120 / GBP 105 and can be paid in in all four currencies. Just send us a message and Jeff will be on it already!

There are circumstances when the weather spoils the travel plans. If the port authorities issue a “signal 1” warning, outrigger boats will not be sailing. Guests must be rerouted and will depart from Calapan City to/from Puerto Galera. Using a private Jeepney they will be drop/pick guests to and from Puerto Galera. Private transport operators will advise their guests ahead of time in case severe weather issues occurs. In case of storm signal 2 or 3, no boats will go whatsoever and you're better off staying in Manila till the weather improves, which is usually within 1 or 2 days at most.

Save this page to your favourites, whenever there is a storm signal 1 or higher, we will mention this on this and several other pages on puertogaleradive.com

Your own boat, your preferred time to leave.

No time requirement and you leave when it is comfortable for you. It is advisable to leave during daytime rather than night-time as the coast guard only allows daytime trips for outrigger boats. Daytime is till 5.30pm as it gets dark early in The Philippines. For trips after 5.30pm, you will need to go with an approved night time outrigger boat, which incurs additional fees. If your flight was delayed however, this is usually preferred over staying another night in Manila.
